Introduction
Seacoast Consulting is officially up and running and I’d like to start of by off by welcoming you. There are a good many web sites dealing with gold and precious metals and I feel privileged to have you on board. There are very few sites that deal primarily with the Precious Metals (PM) Junior Mining companies (JMC).
Once you begin to bounce around the site you’ll begin to see a bit more of what we’re all about. And please remember that this is a work in progress. It is all about information, investing, and the preservation of wealth. It is certainly about the accurate flow of it from us to you or in many cases from some of the carefully chosen writers and analysts to you.
If I can accomplish but one or two things with the site, then I will have achieved my objective. One of those objectives is to make you aware of up to a dozen writers and websites (some of them paid services) where you will acquire excellent information that will assist you in becoming better investors in the world of the high risk-high reward junior mining companies specializing in precious metals; primarily gold and silver. They’ve certainly helped me and throughout the years. I’ve brought many of them to your attention and I will continue to do so. I will also mention new ones that might be a benefit to us all.
I’d also like to bring to your attention some of the quality junior mining companies that we have personally discovered or that have been brought to our attention by our readers.
Finally, there will be discussions about both the micro and macro financial environments in which we find ourselves. Understanding the current financial environment could not be more important as it affects all aspects of our financial future. Currently, the US Dollar is a pivotal element in the financial equation and we had best understand it and the nature of all fiat currencies along with the geopolitical environments in which they operate.
There will be other topical subjects covered when the time is appropriate.
Liability Issues
I will mention the liability issues to the extent that you realize that you must make your own decisions when it comes to investing; especially in high risk high-reward environments such as junior mining companies.
This site is primarily about helping our readers become involved in this PM (Precious Metals) community, but because of liability issues, we have to be very careful about the advice we offer. I’ve given this formatting some thought and I think the best way to approach it is to list recommendations in the first person. Then you can follow my lead or you can ignore what I have to say. The final decision and how you proceed is always up to you. Please read and re-read our disclaimers because they are there to protect everyone. They are a wakeup call that everyone is personally responsible for their own investment decisions. Seacoast-Consulting is an “ideas store”.
It is important to realize that every person has to find their way through the investment maze and there are a lot of sharks out there. I know because I have to deal with some of them on a daily basis. That being said, there are also some wonderful, smart, caring people involved in this community.
I feel that I’m fortunate because I’ve had the good opportunity to deal with a good many ethical people in the industry. I won’t take advertising from companies who don’t meet our high standards of integrity and quality. Remember that most of these junior mining companies are constantly being squeezed for cash. Therefore, they have to consistently put their best foot forward. I can live with that. I cannot live with miscreants who find it necessary to constantly deceive the public in order to fatten their own wallets.
Gurus
Ladies and Gentlemen, there ain’t no such thing so get over it. Santa Claus and the Tooth Fairy went bye-bye when we were “youngins”. Just as we need to be our own advocates in medical matters, political matters, and all such areas, we need to be our own advocates in financial matters. Anyone over 35 with any history of investing has been burnt at least once. We wanted to trust someone other than ourselves most of the time when that occurred. Most of the time, when we lost money—sometimes large sums of it as in anything over $10,000, it was because that trust was betrayed. There are no gurus in your life except YOU! If we learn this one lesson, we will have saved a great deal of money.
It is incredibly painful to be betrayed on any level. Perform your own background work and due diligence on any and all companies you think worthy of your investment dollars. Call the company, call your broker if you have one, and talk to as many people as you can about the company. One of the features we will have at seacoast-consulting.com is a place where you can write in and share your experiences about a company. It will not be a free for all because I will edit all of the material we place on the site. We will not have a chat room. There are enough of them already. But if your remarks are candid and can be ascertained as valid, then I shall do my level best to present them.
If you have ideas for the audience about quality companies, by all means feel free to share. Again, I will try and check out all of the companies we present or have an asterisk by the name so you can perform further examination.
The idea is that we are all gurus if we just put a little of ourselves into the exploration-DD experience.
One final word on this subject is this: I have frequently found that people do their due diligence after they’ve purchased a company’s stock. They then rush around trying to uncover every last bit of information. Remember that the time to perform your DD is before your purchase your shares.
Formatting
People are incredibly busy these days. We are going to try and keep our articles short. I’d like to limit them to a page, two at the most. We’ll have a catchy headline so you’ll know what the piece is about and then offer up the basic material. We shall either direct you to venues of additional information or a web site if available.
Conclusion
Usually, we’ll have a conclusion to an article and it may well be possible to skip to the conclusion and receive the gist of the piece. We’ll try and recapitulate the article in a few words at the end. So, welcome aboard, remember this site is currently a work in progress, and we’d appreciate having you on our email list. Finally, remember that you are the master of your own destiny both in life and in investing.
Until next time,
D. Stewart Armstrong
