Preface to the Gift to the Gold Community
Part I
Ladies and gentlemen:
Introduction
It’s that time again-time to list the top 10 gold and financial newsletters that I personally feel have the most qualitative and accurate information. Remember first and foremost that this is a purely subjective evaluation and I am certain that I will inadvertently eliminate at least 20 or 30 really good ones. Therefore, I shall try and post a few additional titles at the end of this article–something like an honorable mention.
There are literally hundreds of newsletters, websites, and commentaries oriented towards gold, silver, and the precious metals complex. Keep in mind that these are not the base metals such as copper and zinc which of course is obvious to some of us but if we want to expand our numbers we have to explain ourselves and our message clearly. Some of these letters will be focused on the physical markets while others will be focused on the futures markets, otherwise known as the “paper markets”.
The one thing that neophytes to the Precious Metals community must realize is the difference between the physical (purchasing actual gold and silver coins, and other products) and the paper markets (options, futures, ETFs, and other leveraged products). It is unfortunate but we must remember that in the precious metals markets, the tail wags the dog which is to say that the paper markets are manipulated to the point where they actually significantly impact and frequently control the physical price of gold and silver. This has been the prime message of The Gold Antitrust Action committee for the last 10 years. Strange as it may be, I’ve noticed a huge movement towards the acceptance of this concept by some well-positioned and high profile individuals who would have nothing to do with that idea just a year ago. And lest we forget, there are many high profile investors who still refuse to believe in the “manipulation” mantra.
We live in treacherous times and we had best be prepared for them. Knowledge is the key and if you don’t have that knowledge you will be left behind. Knowledge is not always about simply picking this stock or that stock– it is about understanding the overall atmosphere, both financial and social, in which we currently find ourselves. Therefore many of these letters will not offer you a single stock to trade while others will. I shall try and delineate the ones which will offer actionable advice. But please remember that in order to be well-educated, and understand what is truly occurring, we need to read those letters and visit those websites that give us the background as to why gold and silver and the precious metals complex are going to be the “go-to” investments in the coming years. In other words we need to understand the big picture in order to make money in the small trades. That being said, we all have to do our own due dilligence because there are many different opionions. Mine just happens to coincide with Bill Murphy, Chris Powell (www.lemetropolecafe.com) and James Turk (www.fmr.com). read more

Ladies and Gentlemen
There are several writers who I believe are worthy of your time. Congressman Ron Paul is one of them because he has a solid understanding of where the US stands in the eyes of the world from both a geopolitical and a financial perspective.
Remember that both realms are closely connected and no one lives or works in a vaccum. Dr. Paul makes it a point to stay as neutral as he possibly can while offering us the truth.
My own personal opinion is that both sides lack the ability to reason because the emotional issues are so ingrained that it will take an entirely new set of personal, cultural, and government constructs on both sides of the equation to move past this centuries old history of hatred. Hamas simply refuses Israels right to exist and Israel will move heaven and earth to protect its cultural identity and its physical boundries. This is about an immovable object meeting an unrelenting force.
In the broader context however, it is this kind of instability which normally leads a rise in global instability and hence a rise in the price of gold. With all of the geopolitical machinations occurring in the world today, I have to ask myself, why is gold being consistently whacked? I bring this up because first and foremost Seacoast-Consulting is a precious metals site and all of these global events are connected in one way or another. We all need to be aware of the ramifications of events such as these and most importantly pray, and speak up to your government so that these kinds of events do not escalate to greater conflicts in the Middle East and the World.
I would also urge people to keep a sharp eye out for the work of Eric Sprott, John Embry, Roger Wiegand, and others of a silmilar ilk.

Ron Paul holds US liable for Gazans death
Global Research, January 13, 2009
Press TV - 2009-01-10
Republican congressman Ron Paul says the US is aiding and abetting Israel in Gaza through its financial and military support for Tel Aviv.
“The weapons being used to kill so many Palestinians are American weapons, and American funds, essentially, are being used for this,” said the congressman Friday.
Israel launched an all-out war against the Gaza Strip and its democratically-elected ruler, the Hamas movement, to put an end to rocket attacks against southern Israel.
At least 821 Palestinians have been killed during the operation and some 3,330 others are reported wounded. At least 10 Israeli troops have been killed during the offensive so far.
Hamas demands a cessation to an 18-month Israeli blockade on Gaza before its fighters stop rocket attacks against Israel.
Congressman Paul criticized Washington for its indirect intervention in the affairs of other countries.
“There’s a political liability, which I think is something that we fail to look at, because too often there’s so much blowback from our intervention in areas that we shouldn’t be involved in,” he said.
Paul also expressed his opposition to a House resolution that strongly supported Israel in its Gaza invasion. “I rise in opposition to this resolution, not because I am taking sides and picking who the bad guys are and who the good guys are.”
“I’m looking at this more from the angle of being a United States citizen, an American, and I think resolutions like this really do us great harm,” he added.
Earlier on Friday, House of Representative speaker Nancy Pelosi backed the Israel’s military operations on Gaza, saying that “Israel, like any nation, has a right to self-defense when under attack”.
“There’s a lot of reasons why we should oppose this resolution. It is not in the interests of the United States. It’s not in the interests of Israel, either,” Paul concluded.
The fighting in Gaza has entered its third week despite a UN Security Council resolution which calls for an immediate end to the hostility in the densely-populated Gaza Strip.
